It doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize that the Midwest has been experiencing some pretty bad weather conditions. Classes canceled, cars stuck in the snow, people slipping on the ice outside of their house (maybe that's just me). Well, it turns out new media sites allow people to view these horrible weather conditions as soon as they begin. ChaserTV Live Weather Video OnDemand allows users to view videos, comment on the videos, and post their own weather experiences for others to read. A post on January 31st by dmoran (a meteorologist named David Moran) read:
Around a foot of snow will be possible across parts of Central Oklahoma, with 15-18 inches of snow possible in parts of Northeastern Oklahoma. Unlike Central Oklahoma, where the transition from freezing rain to snow will occur fairly quickly, I think the transition in Eastern Oklahoma will take a bit longer and significant icing will be possible in parts of Southeast Oklahoma.
The above image captures the storm that took place in the Central Plains a couple weeks ago around the Middle Mississippi River Valley.
I did a bit of research and, apparently, the blog is pretty new, but it definitely allows for interactivity-- a topic that we've been discussing heavily over the past few days. I'll be checking back regularly to see if the website has enhanced any of its features.
