Trek For Hope

One Man's Trek for Hope is an article about Matt Parrish, an ex-army medic who is currently walking from Florida alllll the way to California. Solely by foot. Thats right- no wheels, no mercy. The story is simply awe-inspiring: Parrish is undergoing a strenuous journey for the sole purpose of raising money for The Special Operations Warrior Foundation.

The article quotes...

"The hope is that with his training, and a whole ton of luck, Matt will be able to complete his trek and reach the goal of $25,000. It's my estimation that he will probably beat that goal by the halfway mark, considering he's already over $1,000 and he hasn't even left Florida yet (Silver)."

The fact that Matt was able to raise so much money without stepping one foot over the Florida state line, is a key indication of the positive aspects of new media. By blogging daily about his experiences, and updating his facebook page, Parrish is spreading the word and gaining support simultaneously. To think, with purpose, determination, and access to new media, Parrish
